How Much Money Can I Make Working for Shipt?
First I think it's important to indicate that Shipt does not pay you buy the hour. It is actually a per payment order. There are many Shipt Shopper reviews out there that indicate Shoppers typically make between $15 and $20 an hour, average.
Two Shipt Shoppers I spoke directly with in Grand Rapids, Michigan, made over $70,000 last year, working an average of 40 hours a week! They both indicated that some customers regularly tip 10% of the order, and admitted that there are a few who don't tip at all. Both indicated they focus first to fulfill orders Shipt has placed a 'bonus' on.
Shipt shoppers are independent contractors and are paid per order. Orders will be offered with an estimated pay based on the effort it takes to complete the order. This commission starts at $5 per order, plus 5% of the order total. You will know the value of the order when you select it from the app. A very important thing to remember is that because you are an independent contractor, you need to withhold taxes from the money you receive.
Payment is received via direct deposit every Friday for the work completed the previous Monday through Sunday. This includes commission pay for orders and 100% of any tips received.
Does Shipt Offer Benefits?
Believe it or not, Shipt offers benefits that include health insurance, dental insurance, tuition reimbursement, and even paid time off!
Overall, Shipt Shoppers seem to really enjoy working for Shipt. Those that create a strategy and remain consistent do very well for themselves and can sustain a living with the commission and tips they receive. Shipt focuses on safety, and is a very solid company.
